This is based on a true story about a little boy who fantasies about going to school. Once in school, he struggles to adapt to boarding life, where the youngest student is twice his age. Unable to adapt, he runs away.
He finally returns to school when his older sister who is very close to him, volunteers to stay with him until het gets accustomed to school life. She secretly aspires to be in school herself. One day she hits puberty and starts her period. Besides facing ostracization, she falls sick due to blood poisoning and returns home. When the brother goes home for vacation, the sister is not home. He finds out that she has been married off to a man in a nearby village.

As the tiny Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan transitions to Democracy, a young officer is entrusted to familiarize a remote village on the new form of government. His ulterior motive is unearthed when the old stream dries up, leaving the villagers with no drinking water. He struggles to find solutions, as part of his redemption, but the answer may be in the most unlikely of situations.
The film explores the disruption of harmony between nature and man in a world where greed and materialism reigns supreme. The result is the effects of climate change in a country where the carbon footprint is negative.
